How can I bring a little grace to this situation?

This is a question that’s come to guide me anytime I confront a nerve-wracking or challenging  situation…or even just when things don’t go as planned!

Sometimes it all just hits the fan.

But the beauty of being a 60+ business person is that I get to choose whether I’ll change myself or change the experience.  Do I choose to grow and learn? Or do I choose to change the circumstances because it’s not a fit?

Compared to when i was just starting in business, I have a robust set of tools that I’ve collected over the years. I don’t take much personally anymore which allows me to use my head and my heart to make wiser decisions. I don’t REACT nearly as much as I used to. Instead, I respond. I feel confident.

It makes me a better photographer because I’m always in new situations. When I go on location and meet people in person I never know what i’m going to get— what the lighting will be like, will the team work well together, will the client feel nervous or calm or excited…

I focus on being grounded, present and curious with a sense of humor to give them the best of me and get the job done.
